I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad bottle from Holmes Cay. This bottle is from Mhoba in South Africa. Mhoba uses freshly pressed sugarcane juice, long fermentation, and a self-built pot still designed by owner and mechanical engineer Robert Greaves. They’re one of the few newer craft distilleries in the world that has totally captivated me, having control of every step of their production and showing a real passion for making a boundary-pushing spirit.
